Visions of Science Network of Learning (VoSNL) will be partnering with McMaster University to present the 1st Annual Visions 2009 Hamilton Science Symposium on Saturday May 23, 2009 at The Burke’s Science Building, McMaster University, 1280 Main Street West from 11a.m. to 5p.m. Visions 2009 Hamilton will highlight the many achievements of African Canadians, diverse and multicultural Canadian communities and under-represented groups in the field of science and technology from the early 19 Century.
Visions 2009 Hamilton is a free family-friendly event open to the public where parents are encouraged to bring their family to this fun-filled and innovative symposium, catering to everyone from 5 to 95 years old.
“Visions of Science believes that it’s important for all youth to have an opportunity to explore their greatest potential and it’s our responsibility as their role models to ensure they see the endless possibility that is their world.” says Francis Jeffers, Visions of Science’s Executive Director “Our goal and mission has always been to show young people that a career in science and technology is a goal they can achieve and to provide the role models and images for them to see and emulate.”
Visions 2009 Hamilton Science Symposium would like to thank our new partnerships with McMaster University, Let’s Talk Science, International African Inventors Museum (IAIM), Canadian Multicultural Inventors Museum (CMIM), Venture Engineering & Science, Computers & Technology (Actua), Hamilton Youth Steel Orchestra, John C. Holland Institute For Leadership, Afro-Canadian Caribbean Association of Hamilton & District, Commonwealth of Dominica Association (Hamilton) as well as many other Hamilton District Community Organizations. VoSNL seeks to establish long–term relationships with educational, community and science based organizations to bring the best in science programming to communities in Hamilton.
