CEO- Dr. Eugenia Duodu 

Eugenia Duodu first got involved with Visions of Science as a volunteer. She saw the organization as the perfect representation of her passions: science and community development. As the Chief Executive Officer, Eugenia leads and works with an incredible team of staff and volunteers who bring energy and passion to all aspects of the organization. As a youth born and raised in a low-income community, Eugenia strives to maintain a strong connection to her local and global community by being a mentor and advocate through participation in various boards, organizations and councils. Eugenia holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Toronto and has extensive experience in STEM-based curriculum development and review. Her goal is to help make a long-lasting positive impact in communities through STEM engagement and in-turn allow youth to unlock their potential. 



Trisha is currently the Programs Manager for Visions of Science, overseeing program logistics and implementation. She started working with VoSNL in 2006, delivering the 2006-07 travelling workshops program and assisted with the Symposium and Science Fair from 2007-10. Trisha is an enthusiastic educator and continues to support science programs that stimulate young minds through engaging hands-on learning. Trisha received aB.Ed degree from UWO and an M.Ed degree in Science Education from UofT. She is currently a Special Education and Chemistry Teacher at Louise Arbour Secondary School in the Peel Board.


Curriculum Development and Special Initiatives- Sara da silva

Sara is in the process of completing her PhD in Chemistry at the University of Toronto, where she studies how to make new type of drugs against diseases such as cancer and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). Sara joined the VoSNL team in 2012 as a Volunteer Curriculum Developer, and was soon asked to manage curriculum development as the Head Curriculum Developer. Since then, she has recruited two other Head Developers (Stacey-Lynn Paiva and Anna Cumaraswamy, PhD) who work with Sara in managing curriculum development for Science Clubs, Summer Camps and the VoSNL in-school STEM enrichment program. Sara also partakes in Special Initiatives for VoSNL, which include the establishment of partnerships with post-secondary institutions to enhance and support the growth of the VoSNL Mentorship and Science Club programs.


Science Clubs Program


Sabour is a PhD student at York University working in Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics. His research involves studying climate gas emissions locally as well as from high polluting Canadian sources – collaborating with government scientists through various major projects. He is also a school teacher that has worked in classes from elementary to secondary with a specialty in senior sciences/math and special education. Sabour started with Visions of Science as a volunteer in 2013 and sees the organization as an ideal opportunity to support youth in communities that he was raised in and is determined to remain a part of it for as long as he can. Currently, Sabour is responsible for coordinating and supporting all of the weekly operations of the science club program. 


Volunteer Coordinator- Carolyn Nazareth

Carolyn is a recent graduate of the University of Toronto’s Honors Bachelor of Arts program. Her interest in science along with her passion to build stronger and more connected communities has led her to be a part of Visions. Carolyn joined the organization in early 2012 as a volunteer administrative assistant and transitioned to her position as the Volunteer Coordinator. Some of her tasks include recruitment, screening, recognition and management of over 80 volunteers. As a Volunteer Coordinator, she hopes to bring forward and implement the best volunteer practices and at the same time provide volunteers a meaningful experience. She is thrilled to be a part of Visions and is looking forward to all of the exciting initiatives to come.


Outreach Coordinator- Yusuf Yusuf

Yusuf Yusuf is a 4th year student at the University of Toronto in the medical radiation sciences program. He grew up in Toronto Community Housing and fostered a passion for community development. He has had the opportunity to work with Toronto Community Housing, the University of Toronto and the Toronto District School Board. At Visions of Science, Yusuf enjoys his role as the Outreach Coordinator. It gives him the chance to engage with kids, parents and community members on a consistent basis. He hopes to see the youth across the city thrive educationally and achieve their goals- barrier-free.


Administrative Assistant- Yi Lu

As a third year student pursuing a BEd and BSc at the University of Toronto, Yi's commitment to education has led to her involvement in many schools, camps, and organizations. With her passion for science and learning, Yi hopes to spark children's interests in STEM through the accessible, creative, and fun projects that Visions of Science offers. Yi started with VoSNL as a summer camp coordinator and now as the administrative assistant Yi is responsible for supporting the logistics of all the science clubs.
