Long Term Opportunities

STEM Club Facilitator

Our main volunteering opportunity is within our Community STEM Clubs program as a STEM Club Facilitator. Please note that you will be required to obtain a vulnerable sectors police check.


Every Saturday (with the exception of holidays) from 10:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M.* at the assigned club location.

Term 1: October 5 - December 7 2019, Term 2: January 11 - May 2 2020

*Timing may vary slightly based on club location

We are looking for...

  • Post Secondary students (2nd year and higher*) in STEM and/or education disciplines. We also consider applicants in child and youth care programs or equivalent

  • Individuals with a passion for STEM learning and community development

  • Individuals that have a desire to work with youth and engage communities

*Applicants in first year or high school are welcome to apply and will be considered based on the strength of their application

  2. Attend a regional Info Session

  3. Upon completion of the second stage, you must fulfill all requirements and be available to attend the mandatory training session in September at University of Toronto St. George

Short Term Opportunities

If you would like to get involved but are unable to commit to the weekly Community STEM Clubs program, there are many other opportunities for you!

Events & Initiatives

We hold several major events throughout the year including the Visionary Gala, Visionary Expo (at the Ontario Science Centre), Strikes for STEM Bowl-A-Thon and many more! Event volunteers are responsible for assisting on the day of event. Specific assignments and instructions are available on our Volunteer Portal. 

Community Outreach

We engage in several community-based outreach and activities throughout the year, including participating in Science Literacy Week, Science Odyssey, and more! This involves engaging community members in hands-on STEM experiments, delivering pop-up community workshops and distributing information about our programs and initiatives. Opportunities become available throughout out the year on our Volunteer Portal.
