In 2024, we engaged 5091 youth across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond:

  • 64% were in elementary school

  • 2% in high school, and 

  • 1% in post-secondary or bridging programs.

  • *33% from community events

Geographically, our participants came from Toronto (75%) and Peel (25%)

Program breakdown:

  • 3635 youth engaged through STEM Events and workshops (i.e., events, roadshows & educator engagement)

  • 1723 youth participated in STEM Catalyst

  • 444 youth were part of the STEM Journey

Our programs support Black and racialized youth in low-income communities where access to STEM opportunities remains limited.

Participation data is based on registration and/or verified attendance. We exclude no-shows and duplicates to ensure accuracy.

Outcome Goals

Our programs are designed to spark transformation at both the individual and community level by developing youth who are curious, confident, competent, and connected. We track our progress through annual surveys and longitudinal outcomes to ensure we’re deepening our impact year over year.

By 2026:

  • 80% of participants report a stronger understanding of how STEM connects to everyday life (Curious)

  • 80% of participants report increased confidence in their ability to succeed in STEM (Confident)

  • 80% of youth report gains in leadership or problem-solving skills (Competent)

  • 80% of youth report a stronger sense of connection with peers and community (Connected)

By 2027:

  • 80% of participants report a stronger understanding of STEM in everyday life (Curious)

  • 80% of participants report sustained confidence in STEM abilities (Confident)

  • 80% of Journey youth demonstrate growth in both STEM knowledge and socio-emotional skills (Competent)

  • 80% of youth report meaningful relationships that support their personal and academic growth (Connected)

  • 80% of Journey youth enter STEM-related post-secondary programs (Competent + Confident)
